I have actually just had a really, really lovely couple of days. Yesterday was simple relaxation and then getting hammered at the pub - they had some Quinns going off the next day so in the end were just giving the stuff away - and catching up with people and hearing all about Gemma's adventures in Africa. This mostly consisted of me cooing over the pictures of baby elephants and being wildly jealous, but still.
Today, though, was just as nice. I spent nearly all of it in Southport, buying stuff for holidays. I finally succombed to buying some shorts, argh, and I think I'm all prepared with shoes and stuff, and I even forcibly dragged Simon around into getting some stuff. We spent a lot of time oohing and aahing at the bunnies and the hamsters in a pet shop too, just because, well. THEIR LITTLE NOSES AND YAWNS AND SCAMPERING OH THEY'RE SO CUTE. Oh dear. I think I want a pet now.
We then went to see Transformers, which was, well. Less with the cute and fluffy. You know what, though?? It was absolutely bloody amazing. Whilst my childhood memories of Transformers consist of never being able to transform the bloody things, I honest to god really liked it. My main criticism is that no one, at any point, used the phrase 'Robots in disguise!'
But no, seriously, it was great. I cared about the plotline, I cared about the humans, I laughed in places, and more importantly is featured many scenes of robots beating the shit out of each other.
Go and see it! It is WIN.
All in all, I've had a really lovely few days. So much so in fact, that I don't mind the fact I have the week from hell coming up. Two earlies, a long day - 8am until 10pm! why did I sign up for that? - and then a final late. BUT THEN
tau_sigma is coming to stay and her, me and
loneraven will be GEEKY LIEK WHOA.
And now, I am going to depart to sort out my uniform and to make my lunch for tomorrow. Alas and eheu at my lack
