Nov. 22nd, 2007 01:22 pmToday is still cold, England and Scotland are both out of the European cup (there are some advantages to being me) and I spent my morning cleaning up vomit and it wasn't even a very good Jeremy Kyle to make up for matters. Since the rest of my day can generally be judged on how rubbish the Union is (it's an omen, you see, about the rest of the day) my heart sank when I got my essay on witchcraft back.
At the time, I thought that witchcraft would be a good topic - it's interesting! - and I thought that if I did three films, it would make it a bit easier to tackle, hence me writing about The Seventh Seal, The Name of the Rose and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Half way through my essay I realised that I hadn't done enough reading, that the whole thing was madness, that I wasn't being analytical enough but due to fucking off to Cabmridge I didn't have a chance to make things right so I sort of just gave it in and prayed for double figures. (St Andrews gets marks out of 20 - I want around 15s to ensure my 2.1)
Needless to say, my heart sank when I saw 8.5
It rather lifted again when I realised that there was a 1 before the 8 and I had, by way of a minor miracle, actually achieved an 18.5, which is far and away my highest mark in university ever.
And, just for clarification - on an essay about Monty Python.
Eeheehee. If I can keep this lucky streak up I might actually pass my degree!
