Dec. 26th, 2007 03:43 pmIt's been an odd few days, but I'm here and I'm still alive. Simon and I both suvived our relative encounters with our respective future in-laws (except for when theya asked me about children and I may have just screamed a little bit) which is always a minor miracle at this time of year.
Christmas was actually surprisingly good fun; I went out with my parents on Christmas Eve for one festive drink, and we were thrown out of Ormskirk at 2am and walked home in the middle of the road doing Father Christmas impressions and taking blurry camera phone pictures of traffic cones stuck on traffic lights. Yes, that's right, I did get roaringly drunk with my parents. They were paying for the booze, in my shameful defence.
Needless to say, I was disgruntled to be awoken at 8am.
Anyway, I am now well-furnished in terms of socks, jumpers, books and most importantly a quilt (and Simon got me a Take That CD, begrudingly. I AM HAPPY) and all in all I am prepared for the chilly year ahead. I ate far too much food, I thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas special of Doctor Who and have watched many random films on the telly. I missed the end of Breakfast at Tiffanys, My Fair Lady was absolutely AWFUL and er, I forget what else. I wanted to watch Ballet Shoes, but I have to be in work in about an hour and haven't even ironed my uniform yet, so I should probably go and get on with doing that.
I hope everyone had a lovely ans safe Christmas and manages to do the same for the New Years. I'll be looking after the elderly and reading Pepys in my lunch breaks, but I do hope everyone else has a good time.
