Well, last night was unexpected. Perched happily in front of ER with a chicken salad (it sounds healthy until you see how much mayonnaise was involved) and a glass of red wine, I got a text from Sascha asking me if I wanted to go out to the AltSoc gig.

Half an hour later, I was belting it out of the house, mascara still drying and pondering if I did, in fact, have any money, and why I persisted in believing that I am able to run up the Travelator. Still, I made it, even if somewhat out of puff.

It ended up being an absolutely marvellous night and I felt proper rock and roll as I stood and swayed my little heart out to unsigned bands in the corner of the Union. Last night was actually the Rave In The Quad event - which, incidentally, I'd rather have died than go to - so it was pretty quiet, but it was enjoyable. And hell, people are actually beginning to know my name as stuff in AltSoc, which is a bit nice; I tend to be quiet most of the time, so people who know me have either lived with me or go to DocSoc, with the odd exception for people in classes. I even got asked if I wanted to be in the committee, although like most university societies, DocSoc included, this means 'You turn up quite often and we need to have faintly reliable people to turn up at meetings and you don't seem to be an axe-wielding psychopath.'

It's all good.

Ridiculously, though, I was still shattered by eleven and was home and in my bed by midnight. WHAT.

However, the fact that I am now awake, showered, fed and have even done some work on my essay shows that my sleeping pattern is re-asserting itself; I was awake at nine and reluctantly hauled myself out at 9.30am. This would be more useful if the library was open before 1pm, which means that I'm sort of pottering about the house and dong some re-reading rather than getting going on any real reading. Oh well.

This week plans to be excitingly good fun. Off to the hecklings on Tuesday - it seems I am the officialy driver for a candidate, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say what one? - and [livejournal.com profile] loneraven is coming to see me on Thursday, which is the MOST EXCITINGEST THING EVER. When exactly I write my essay is something I'm handwaving right now. WORK, PAH.

One day, I will go out with my camera and take a picture of the bloody thing to prove that it makes the real Travelator look like a stroll in the park. Annoyingly, I am on the side of town that means that whichever way I walk in, I will encounter this incline at some point - and the bit of town I had to go to last night involved the steepest and most evil part.

You know some people nowadays don't even get the Gladiators reference? FOR SHAME.
