May. 16th, 2008 07:54 pmCan no longer be arsed with revision. I've decided instead that I'd like to go on an adventure. I have a week to myself after exams, so it's tempting. (If anyone has any realistic suggestions for adventure then please do suggest them, noting my sadly depleted budget and where I am in the world.)
HOWEVER. Adventures are fun. If money/commitments/sense of reality/safety/etc was no object and you could just go off for a few days and do something adventurous, what would it be? Personally, I'd pile loads of stuff into a bag, see where was the cheapest place to go, and just get on a plane or train. I'd go to a city somewhere and get lost for three days, with nothing but an unhelpful phrasebook and probably a map. I'm not sure where this city would be, but I'd like it to be somewhere that I've read about and know the history of, like Paris, or Vienna, or Prague,or Istanbul; alternatively, it'd be somewhere I knew almost nothing about but liked the sound of and the general area it's in, like Copenhagen, or Bratislava, or Sofia. Somewhere in Europe, I think, as I always think of holidays elsewhere as being a bit more dramatic and being a Real Adventure, the sort that I'm not dreaming about right now because going that far panics me and therefore I'd need to plan.
And I like holidaying with other people, but I don't half enjoy just getting lost by myself, too which is why, I think, Europe sounds fun.
Oh, I wish I could.
(Alternatively I'd go tromping around Middle Earth. Yes, still. That's still my idea of a wonderful time, just a walking holiday like that, despite not particularly liking hiking. Have to admit, though, if someone offered me a TARDIS right now...)
Damn it, I thought I'd cured my itchy feet for a few years. I know this is just revision talking, but still.

Date: 2008-05-16 09:15 pm (UTC)I don't have anyone really to be geeky and go to museums with because the boy does not like intellectual stuff much and complains when I even attempt to windowshop!
Plus, you might be able to get a megabus here, I'm not sure but they're cheap!
Plus plus we could possibly go elsewhere!
