I have the internet back, after running to the library and flailing and the woman at IT services rolling her eyes and asking if I ran Windows 2000 or XP with ZoneAlarm. When I nodded, she sighed rather a lot and swore about 'that bloody update'.

So, there's that fixed. Actually, I'm really enjoying being by myself. The house is clean and sparkly to exactly my standards - not above, not below. My washing is gently drying downstairs and my underwear is proudly splayed for all to see. I had a bath last night with the door open. The loo is always free. Also I can watch what I want to on the telly, but given we all watch the same stuff and understand the sanctity of Hollyoaks Hour (oh, Max) this isn't really a change.

On the flipside, mind, I started talking to the radio this morning so clearly other humans in the vicinity is a good idea.

It has given me a bit of a taste for what life post-university might be like; if I can afford it, I think I'd like to live by myself and have a small flat decorated as I like it. If you can get rents like that, of course; the house here, though, is just filled with the landlady's stuff, but all I really want is the bare sticks of furniture so I can work the rest out myself. Still, that's a whole year off, so I can worry about that much later on. I have no idea what I'll even be doing in a year, after all.

Today is my day off, and I'm off to go and get my eyebrows waxed - never done it before but have decided it's time I suck it up and get someone to professionally shape them for me - and then I'm going to come home and have a a good long run at the dissertation. I am probably the only person who That Time Of The Month equals incredibly productivity; I don't enjoy it, but I do have a mad urge to nest and as such I do stuff like cook, clean, make lists and get everything on it done. I also eat a lot of chocolate, but hey ho.

I'm not sure when people are coming back, but I think it's tomorrow? It'll be quite nice to have human contact past "Hi! How are you today? Can I help you with anything?"
