Aug. 8th, 2008 07:50 pmI have survived this week. Tuesday consisted of changing about a bazillion prices and then going for Staff Drinks in the evening, where those of us that hadn't eaten that evening got wasted; Wednesday was the first day of sale, where I watched a child lick all the mirrors in the shop (then cleaned them so that when he did it again it tasted foul HAHAHA); Thursday was my day off, wherein I cleaned the carpets in the house and they are BEAUTIFUL and SHINY and worryingly the living room carpet is actually a new colour, it was previously so dusty and stuff; today, the Lammas Market hit town. It did so right outside my place of work, in a very noisy and loud way. My head is still pounding. (Just for those that don't know, the Lammas Market is in fact a big travelling fairground, from what I can tell. You know, with the whistles and the loud music and the people bellowing over the microphone AGAIN and AGAIN.)
However, all that counts is that I survived and thank God for that. I mean, I still have loads of stuff to do; Saturday is the day where I start sorting out stuff for moving out and polishing off my reading for the dissertation. I've now accepted I can't physically get any more done until, basically, I move back to Ormskirk. It's a big if about then, actually; I have a ridiculous amount of stuff to do, assuming I ever get any hours from the nursing home. I've now got all my books and ATHENS access though, so that's good. And Sunday is back in work. But Monday and Tuesday are mine; lots of lazing around and eating and drinking stuff I like. Without in anyway damaging the carpets, I hasten to point out, because good grief, that was a lot of work and I have no intention of repeating it.
I had a vaguely interesting post, but my headache has eaten it. I'm going to go and watch DIY SOS and just generally crash out. Aren't I rock and roll?
(Also, there is apparently some sort of sporting event on...?)
