SO AFTER ALL THAT I actually bought a car today. It was more expensive than the one with no clutch but, er, that should be quite obvious, I think. I haggled down the price and everything.

It is a blue Ford Fiesta, R reg. It has reasonable tax and MOT on it, slightly too many miles but a decent engine and also it looks pretty yes I am a girl. I am unbelieveably excited about this even though I am also now pretty much broke until my compensation money comes in, which I am aware will be in several months, ahem.

I have a weird and uncontrollable urge to call it Legolas on the basis it feels like a Legolas. Still, car names tend to evolve in time so I'm sure it will soon develop a name and character of its own.

I can't quite believe I've done this. I've been talking about getting a new car for about a year and after all that I sort of just bought one. I am mad, but, well, this is nothing new. I flail for months about doing a thing and then just go "OOOH SHINY" and just sort of do it. (See: picking a house to live in.)

Se, I have only ever driven Ford Fiestas (not counting my duty managers shitty metro & the Laguna) & I have pretty much decided that when I get round to having a car of my own I want it to be a Ford Fiesta, though I'd prefer a newer model than one of the older ones we currently have. I really like them and I can fit in them. I can't drive the Laguna and have refused my Mother's increasing offers to put me on the insurance because even with the seat pulled forward I cannot reach the pedals and it has a stupid way of going into reverse!

I quite liked my Skoda. I realise this in retrospect. Anyway, it drives a lot like my Dad's Mondeo, which is a good thing. I really like Corsas since I leanrt to drive in one.

I have, fairly obviously, one of the older models, but it's a bit smaller than the newer ones and I prefer little cars. I also have to sit REALLY close to the steering wheel in all cars, and even then I can only just make it!
