hathycolThe first day of 2009 was filled with my FINISHING MY DISSERTATION. Oh yes. I have 500 words to play around with, i.e. fill in, but I have a lot of quotes I need to shove in once the library actually ever bloody re-opens, which at the moment is looking a bit like never. Well, okay, in three days, which gives me three days to run at the thing with the Red Pen Of Doom and change everything I can bearing in mind that six of the books I need are locked in the library. Then I have about another three days to sort out those changes, then I will get it bound, do a last check over it that night, and then I will hopefully give it on early on Friday morning, before my shift at work.
I will then hit up Tescos on my way back from work and make the food I've been promising myself for about a month; Nigella's Girdle-Buster Pie, with the really nice bottle of wine my academic son gave me.
Still, though, I have work now and rather depressingly a slightly irritating illness which meant I had to run into town early this morning and pray Boots was open. The pharmacist seemed glad that other shops, i.e. mine, was at least open today, and was very nice to me. It's nothing to worry about, just means I shall have to face the dissertation feeling a little Under The Weather.
All that said, though, I am the proud owner of 11,500(ish) words of an original dissertation that approaches the subject (as far as I and my supervisor know) in a way that is completely original and has at least three clever sentences in it. It'll take a lot to harsh my squee on that one. Eehee!
