So, I saw the Doctor Who thing. I was not impressed with Tennant at first, so I'm keeping an open mind and trying not to dwell on the fact that Matt Smith is only five years older than me, which either makes me old or him too young, and I can't work out which right now.

Anyway. Today is Monday. My dissertation is due in on Friday. I am remarkably calm about this, mostly because I have finised off the lost of it. My list of Stuff To Do is as follows:

1. Look up the internet sources I couldn't, i.e. the places and dates of some of the older books publishing information.

2. Put in the relevant details from The Grand Quarrel, the Calenders for the Committee for Compounding, The Nicholas Papers and Pepys Diary. (Ah, my old friend.)

3. Look up where that quote I used at the end came from; possibly ODNB?

4. Check over for the last time.

5. Get comb-bounded.

6. Hand in.

7. Proceed to get absolutely wellied for three days solid.

I have work tomorrow, but I can get the first three points done today, easily. It's a really, really, really good feeling; after faffing about with the bastarding thing since June 2008, it'll be lovely just to have it all written and down on the page and presented as well as I can be arsed. All my full stops are where they should be in the footnotes (I hope!) and my bibliography is three pages long. That's not all that long, until you contemplate the fact that some of the entries have a small note next to them, saying '7 vols.'

Anyway. Yesterday Katie emptied out her wardrobe and produced two black bags of clothes. I had a root before she took them to charity. She now only has one black bag. I am aware I may have basically robbed Oxfam, but I am also fabulously better dressed than I used to be; today I am in Shiny New (to me) Jeans and Big Fluffy New (to me) Jumper that is shedding everywhere but I don't really care because hell, it's nice to have some new options in my wardrobe that aren't for me to wear to work.

Right-o, on to editing my dissertation and trying not to concentrate on the last-ditch efforts of the dissertation curse to thwart my attempts to work. Long and very TMI story. Vaguely amusing, mostly annoying.

[eta: now it's just a case of printing it all off and checking that I haven't missed out any details, in which case I need to reprint. If all is well, I shall print off my other copy (ugh, over 60 pages of printer credits) and get it all comb-bound and then I AM FREE!]

He's only 3 years older than me, and is younger than my brother! Argh!

So close to being done with the dissertation! Wow! I'm envious. I have bits of just one chapter of my project written so far ... then again, I don't have to hand it in until after Easter. Anyway, well done! Enjoy getting wellied. *g*

Just think of average life expectancy... We're all still young goddamnit!!! But yes... We'll see how he does as the new Doctor. What is up with the crappy emo hair though?!
I wasn't sure about Tennant either at first "new teeth" oh dear, but he really grew on me and is my fave.

Huzzah for "new" clothes, I love seeking out new items in charity shops :D I always get to have a look through when my sis is having a clearout of her shoes and handbags ^----^ for there's always at least 1 awesome find.

But yes, all the best with finishing off your dissertation - I'm sure it will be wonderful and everything (and more than) your tutor expected! *MWAH*
