Jan. 13th, 2009 03:32 pmPlease feel free to ignore me. I know that everyone - particularly those in the library around me - are in the middle of exam hell. I am very aware that I will be sitting three hellish exams in five months and as such am in no position to be at all complacent. I also know that January is not treating far too many of my friends as kindly as they deserve. I am also aware that January is not particularly kind to me, most years.
At the moment, though, I'm in the most ridiculously good mood, tinged only by a slight yawning sense of boredom at the next few weeks ahead. I really want to bake, but unfortunately ingredients are expensive, so I'm limiting myself to one experimental meal a week and one lot of baking related goodies. The fact I am cripplingly addicted to Come Dine With Me and MasterChef may have something to do with the fact I've blossomed into a domestic goddess. I cleaned the house all day on Sunday, and I spent Monday shopping in Dundee (boots! beautiful new boots! cheap new boots! this is why I am broke) and then the afternoon showing people around the house. It's nice, though, that my main worries are if the kitchen floor is clean, or wondering what woiuld happen if I substitued ginger for cinnamon in a recipe.
The only downside is that I couldn't go for a walk today. I am was really looking forward to tramping along some the beaches as it's neither windy nor too madly cold today, but showing people around the house (many times up and down the stairs) combined with my trick knee tripping me up yesterday means I have the world's worst crippling cramp in, irritatingly, the thigh of my good leg. It's quite good fun, apparently, watching me hesitate before sitting down as I try to work out which leg will hurt the most to put most of my weight on.
But, well, yes. Remind me of my mild happiness about boredom when I come whinging about it in a week or so. Also, if there's anything I can do for you; I am broke, I know, but if you want a drabble, maybe some random photos, recipes, etc, then let me know. This is the joy of the geeky internet world; we help everyone out when we can, because they'll help us if we need it. So, you know, just say.
