Feb. 17th, 2009 03:13 pmWhilst I am glad I'm not currently in work, like I normally would be in The Day From Hell, I still wish I didn't have class at 9am. This is mostly because tonight is the DocSoc pub crawl, which should be good fun, but I don't want to be really tired for it. It says a lot that even I forgot when it started, and had to check my e-mail about three times today to remind myself. Good grief, I'm meant to be in charge... might be a good thing that they're getting shot of me in about three months, even if it does make me want to howl "DON'T MAKE ME LEAVE I WILL STAY IN YOUR ATTIC" at the first-years so I can cling on to my beloved society. To think we taunted poor Philip two years ago for weeping over his DocSoc scarf. I almost feel bad.
Anyway. At least I have done my laundry, watched Doctors and Diagnosis Murder and finished doing my reading for my essay on Friday. I forgot how productive it was possible to be if you got out of bed early. I also know that trick only works a few times, given that I used to be super-productive on a Monday but by Wednesday I was naptime queen. I know I shouldn't complain about 9am starts - I was in the shower at 8am and found myself silently amazed that this time a year ago I'd have been in work for an hour by 8am - but they are hard, yo.
In other news, the weather has upgraded to Mild. This is very exciting, as I am sat at home in just normal clothes and only the usual layers of things. I took my coat off on the way home this morning because I was actually too warm. I am going to downgrade from Winter Coat And Thin Scarf to Autumn Coat and see if I do any better; I hate being too warm and turning up to class all manky and sweaty, although after the months we've had I actually found myself wondering what this strange sensation was before realising it was the novelty of being too hot.
Time to go and learn about female Anglo-Saxon saints, only one of whom I can spell, pronounce, or even use a modern keyboard to reproduce. AElthelthryth is about the best representation I can give. You try writing notes on that name more than once.
