Apr. 19th, 2010 08:27 pmOn Wednesday night I crawled home from work, ate half my tea, made a dignified excuse and went to bed and cried quite a lot from the hideous tension migraine. I got up again for long enough to pack, and then crawled back to bed. Aware that It Would Look Bad if I took time off around booked holiday time, I went into work on Friday, still headachey but feeling less awful. My headache eased off by Friday lunchtime. Fortunately if you go to the counter in Boots and basically cry about your awful job and the hideous pain it causes, they give you all kinds of exciting medication. GOOD TIMES, this relaxation of prescription laws, and makes up for the headache I am suffering from again.
Er, yes. That aside, I still braved the Travel Chaos(TM) and travelled up to St Andrews on Thursday night. Kath and Rob were getting married, and luckily most of their guests were able to turn up, and they had the most beautiful weather for it. Richie and I were only due to go to the evening reception, which we did with a lot of the people in Fat Face I used to work for. Although I managed to get a tiny bit drunk by the end of the evening, I had a wonderful time; Kath looked beautiful, Rob mostly looked relieved, and I managed to ceilidh, albeit very badly. Saturday was great too (once the hangover abated) as I got to catch up with Dee and
ann_pan and go out for dinner in the evening after Doctor Who. It was, basically, a lovely weekend, and frankly I wish I had just stayed there rather than battle hideous trains (resisted the urge to howl "FUCK OFF AIR TRAVELLERS SOME OF US ALREADY HAD TICKETS" quite a lot) just for the privilege of going in to work to be shouted at by customers who are annoyed at our lack of management support. If it helps, I'm annoyed too!
Tonight there is new Glee on. This is a thing of win. Also I am about to put another job application in. Statistically, something has to come up soon. Oh, god, please let something come up soon.
