I shall be leaving at 1pm today, methinks. I do not feel spectacularly healthy, as my throat is all inflamed and I am achey all over.

That is how I described current situation in my last post. I did indeed leave not long after 1pm, came home, and crawled into bed and passed out like a dead thing. The thing is, I thought I maybe had a virus - no energy, spent most of Friday night curled up and shivering and sore, etc etc. Still, I couldn't take time off work since I had only recently taken time off for a fictional illness, so I staggered onwards in the manner of brave soldier, etc, etc.

After I got out of bed for the second time on Saturday, I staggered downstairs. Dad looked mildly concerned at me as I gulped painkillers, etc. He looked down my throat, and enquired if I knew that my tonsils were covered in white spots. I admitted that I did not, but the last time that had happened it had gone septic, should I be concerned?

... yeah. An hour later Dad and I were sat in the minor injuries unit of the local hospital, waiting to see the out of hours GP. "Colleen, how long have you actually been feeling ill for?"

"Um. Since Wednesday night? But if I had a glass of wine in the evening it sort of stopped being such a problem..."

Dad put his head in his hands. "Your sister is always complaining that she's ill, you are allowed to be ill too, you know."

(To which I didn't say: well, that's the bloody principle of the thing, isn't it.)

Anyway, it turns out I have horrible horrible tonsillitus again and if it gets worse I have to go and see my own GP. Good times. I have an excuse to lie on the bed all day and watch True Blood so that is no bad thing, although am confused as to why Eric is turning into Sue Sylvester. Short blond hair and tracksuits? Really?
