I love the Orbital remix of the Doctor Who theme tune. I do. I really, really do. I have danced around to it with mad glee; I have played it to a crowded room and made them dance about with mad glee. I put it on insanely loudly in the car and pretend that I know how to rave. So Matt Smith on stage with Glastonbury, where he even says 'wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey'? Only one thing would have made it better and that is a fez.

No ramblings about Doctor Who here because everyone else has said it so much better, but yes, I loved it. In fact, the only mild rambling I feel I should mention is that secretly I think I quite fancy Matt Smith but only when he's not being the Doctor. Which is testament to his acting, obviously, but Matt Smith being all 'o hai Glastonbury look as my tight clothes' sets my indie-girl self a-fluttering but the tweed is just awful. (See also: Alex James.) Whereas I fancied David Tennant in a universal over-arching way. I don't know if this is significant at all.

All of the above pales into significance against the fact that after a season of Amy Pond I can cheerfully say that I have finally found a Doctor Who companion I fancy more than Romana and Martha, who had previously stood at a cheery level pegging.

Anyway. It was a good thing that The Big Bang was good, to be honest, as I left work at 1pm on Saturday, having changed clothes into the lightest strappiest top that I had and drove like a madwoman up to Scotland. My rear view mirror has randomly decided to unstick from the window, but I was determined to be there by Doctor Who I stopped for petrol, bought chewing gum, and tried to see if American films have taught me accurately. They haven't, so my rear view mirror swung precariously through the whole journey. Still, I made it in plenty of time for Doctor Who which I watched with Richie in his new flat (owned by the current president of DocSoc) with a small gathering of people including my successor as president of DocSoc. Later on, three Lady Presidents played the Megadrive and shouted out hints and cheats for Sonic 2. GOOD TIMES.

So, yes, I have been in St Andrews this weekend. Richie - who, you know, always good to see - is now living with [livejournal.com profile] moralrelativist which is different but definitely in the good way.

I am now back in Ormskirk, however. Hey ho. So here are some links to stuff you should read:

Scenes from A Spoilery Thing by [livejournal.com profile] loneraven. That isn't actually the title, but it's a big spoilery thing from the end of The Big Bang but oh, it's just what I wanted to see on screen.

The Care and Feeding of Tiny Humans (and Slightly Larger Time Lords) is the best fic about Wee!Amelia in the world.
