A good night's sleep does wonders for the soul. That and a gym induction, which is the hardest work in the world. I morally object to gyms on many many levels, but I feel that going to the council run one is marginally better.
Speaking of councils.
I am a member of the Labour party, but I haven't talked once about the Labour leadership. I would have liked Dianne Abbot to win, because I basically think she's amazing. However, of the realistic candidates I wanted Ed Miliband to win. In terms of voting, I went for Ed Miliband, Dianne Abbot, David Miliband, Ed Balls, and I didn't place Andy Burnham because I think he's scum. Do something for your constituency in Leigh, Andy, and I might be more willing to listen to your bleating on about the North. Leigh is just up the road from me and to be honest it hasn't had a decent MP since he turned up.
So I watched the announcement of the leadership campaign, and I shouted a lot at the telly with Dad about how Simon Cowell would have organised this thing better, but basically I'm very glad that Ed Miliband won. A Tory on facebook (and LJ but I don't think he reads this anymore) has rather sneeringly put up that he's glad that Red Ed won, and I would like to take a moment to point out that a little bit of leftwing politics in this day and age wouldn't go amiss. Deficit needs to be reduced, absolutely, but the only reason our leaders are freaking out so much about the debt level is because they're so rich that they've never actually been in debt themselves! Remember the sick, the poor, the old, the young, the disadvantaged before you remember anything else.
So that's some bright news. Now I'm going togo and have a shower and no doubt stiffen up horribly and be unable to walk tomorrow. Good-o.
