I am a bit stranded. Sort of.
So, last night I was about to go to bed. I got a phonecall from Julia, informing me that she and Ed were about to try and walk home from Ormskirk which is at 45 minute proposition at the best of times. "If I've not called in an hour, please call mountain rescue," she informed me.
So I stayed up, watched the repeat of the Doctor Who Buzzcocks ("BARROWMAN!") and waiting for them to return. They did not return. I fretted slightly. Recieved a phonecall letting me know they were still alive, and then about half an hour later I found myself with housemates again.
Slept through the night like a log, and then when they tried to traipse back into Ormskirk to retrieve cars, I stayed asleep for another three hours. I too needed to get into Ormskirk as I have a pile of parcels to get out, but alas, it was not to be. Sorry everyone that I owe stuff to. IT WILL TURN UP WHEN I CAN GET TO A POST OFFICE.
When I woke up again (around midday), housemates had just returned back, still without a car as the cul-de-sac we're on is impossible for anything that isn't a 4x4. Thus far I've spent my day shovelling my drive, other people's drives (we have a lot of elderly neighbours, and we're the only house in the street that are young, able and don't have to herd children about), and then I went on a walk to Spar which took about an hour, including pushing a lot of cars that got stuck.
Tonight I am going to drink lots of red wine and watch the Strictly finale. Jo was meant to be coming, but I was meant to be driving to pick her up, but I physically can't get my car off the drive at the moment, let alone down the road. This does not bode well.
My mum has phoned me and hysterically told me not to drive anywhere. I laughed hollowly.

Date: 2010-12-18 05:02 pm (UTC)Also, is there more than one Who Buzzcocks? Because I have a copy of one that has Catherine Tate, Bernard Cribbins and David Tennant, but not Barrowman. (It is like AWESOME PERSONIFIED, by the way. If you have not seen it, I will force you to watch it if you visit me one day.)

Date: 2010-12-19 11:18 am (UTC)Snow okay everywhere else, I think, but we're under a couple of feet and things that aren't running include ambulances, according to the BBC. WE CAN'T COPE WITH THIS, IT NORMALLY JUST RAINS HERE.
