I still have dodgy ears. It is very perplexing, and I wish I had full hearing back, although I seem to have re-aligned my balance. I have tried steam (including putting my head over some food I had cooking, just to see if broccoli steam was more medicinal), I have tried heat pads, I have tried hitting the side of my head and I am FED UP OF IT. I actually left the house today to purchase supplies for new year's eve and to finally get some of my Chrismtas post out, so I've taken [livejournal.com profile] trav28's suggestion and soon I will be steaming my head not with medicinal broccoli steam but with water laced copiously with Olbas Oil.

On the bright side, Richie is turning up tonight! This is quite unexpected but also quite marvellous. Does mean I have to re-charge my batteries so I have the energy to clean the house and then leave it to pick Richie up, but I have hours between now and then so I can justify a nap in my slanket before I do the mountain of washing up and hoover my room. And dangle my head above a kettle, obviously.

Oh! If your ears are dodgy, this works for my mum; gently warm some olive oil (not hot, but I'd say just about lukewarm/skin temperature is fine), tilt your head to the left, and pour a teaspoon of the warm oil in your right ear; leave it for a minute, then use paper towels to clean up anything that comes out when you straighten up. Repeat with your left ear by tilting your head to the right (with a clean teaspoon of fresh oil XD).

Helps soften up wax build-ups and soothes any irritation :)!

Personally, I would recommend perhaps not a whole teaspoon, but also if you go to boots they sell olive oil in little capsules which are easier to pour into the ear without spillage, I find. :)

Hee, me and my mum don't mind the mess ;), but I didn't know about the olive oil capsules in boots!

I LOVE YOU. That is all.

Good luck with the steaming :) The problem could lie with your eustachian tube in your throat which get bunged up (as it connects with your ear). Adding of Olbas is a stroke of genius! :)
