Jul. 21st, 2011 06:45 pmI found myself very much enjoying Harry Potter last night. Jo couldn't come in the end, alas, so Richie and I wandered up at what we thought was plenty of time to spare. We were wrong in this, and watched the film from the very very very front of the cinema. "Pretend it's an iMax," I suggested. It failed.
That said, it was still very good. The battle of Hogwarts was very well staged, except for the fact there were a full twenty minutes in the middle that had me bawling away, pretty much as soon as Lupin and Tonks turned up. OH GOD WHY OH WHY. So it's all very sad and distressing but quite noisy so I could get away with tears and the occasional quite loud gulp, and then it all goes very quiet very suddenly so I had to do that unattractive thing where you desperately try to stop crying and just sort of snort a bit. I heard a lot of other people doing the same thing, which was comforting.
I'm very, very sad that it's all over though. Harry Potter was a bit part of my life, as I'm one of those people who timed their ages around it, pretty much. And now it's all gone, much like being a teenger. Alas.
Also there was a trailer for Aliens and Cowboys which, I'm sorry, I think it looks BRILLIANT and I care not who knows it.

Date: 2011-07-21 06:37 pm (UTC)It has James Bond, Indiana Jones, and aliens in it. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE WRONG WITH THINKING IT LOOKS BRILLIANT?

Date: 2011-07-21 09:33 pm (UTC)(I have no interest in Harry Potter, sorry. My only contact with it has been one-half of the sixth movie, which a friend forced me to watch and I found unamusing, and my little sister's revamping / expansion of the house system into a more in-depth personality analysis thing. ...my little sister is odd, yeah.)

Date: 2011-07-22 07:29 pm (UTC)I am very much looking forward to the new Sherlock Holmes film, if only for the opportunity of more shirtless Robert Downey Junior. I am so shallow.
