hathycolThe phrase I have mostly been using today is 'ooooof'. My parents are coming to visit this weekend, so yesterday heralded Clean All Of The Things, or at least some of the complicated things. Doing so I have managed to rip some of my thigh muscles to pieces,so standing up and sitting down is fascinatingly difficult. In work today I was innocently opening a cupboard in order to make one of the new starters a drink when a pint glass slipped out, hit me on the head and bounced off the counter, smashing to tiny pieces all over my arms. (And in my freshly made cup of tea. Harrumph.)
To be fair to my colleagues, those sitting nearby came running by to ask what had happened as I stood there, slightly stunned. In retrospect I should have pushed for a morning off for pint-glass related concussion but given I am the health and safety officer I couldn't really face filling out an accident book entry for myself. Still mildly headache-y now.
So, you know, ooooof.
Oh well. The rest of my weekend was more successful. Went out with work on Friday night and successfully went to a Shoreditch nightclub and drank delicious cocktails without getting too drunk, without being a total wanker, and leaving successfully in time to get home by 11pm, and getting my car in for the annual gouging that is my MOT on Saturday morning. Actually, the gouging wasn't too bad. Plus Richie and I got last minute front-row tickets to see Relative Values, which was rather marvellous and very funny in places.
Anyway. I need to get through this week and parents are arriving on Friday for a long weekend of, er, not entirely sure yet but Book of Mormon is definitely involved on the Friday night. Wahey!!
