hathycolThe spell of fine weather has broken, and the rain is pouring down the windows here. It might be for the best; I'm very confused with the state of the weather at the moment. I spent yesterday reading a book in the park, surrounded by crunchy leaves. Weird.
Yesterday was actually quite a strange day. I was cleaning the bathroom when the window cleaners turned up, and I found myself hiding in there about forty five minutes until they left. (The bathroom has no windows.) I thought it would be weird if I just suddenly emerged, and after fifteen minutes it would clearly be really really strange so obviously the sensible thing to do was hide. Thank god for smartphones is all I can say.
However! Yesterday also had Doctor Who! And Merlin! . I actually enjoyed both of them. Surprisingly.
Doctor Who was ace - I loved that alternative reality. I'm going to believe forever that's where Myfanwy came from. Trains into the pyramids! Who cares what happens in the rest of it, I could have just watched that all day. The killing of the Brig made me a bit teary, but I thought it was well overdue.
I also thought it was a pleasingly simple solution to the whole thing - it made sense, in a strange way. And oh, River, how so awesome. And Amy! "I'm his... mother-in-law." I was very pleased to see that they've not exactly resolved the whole 'losing their child' thing, but at the same time you can see the pain and anger in Amy about it. As we should have done.
Also, Rory is love. But you knew that already.
And Merlin! Good old Merlin. Alas, there is still the dragon and Arthur keeps insisting on keeping his top on but other than that, I still like Merlin. I really do. I am a little alone in this, I realise, but as long as I don't think about it too deeply then it's fabulous brain mush.
