Much of Britain is flapping around under torrential rain. I am currently displaying facial sunburn. SKILLS.

It has been a good weekend. [livejournal.com profile] stupidore came to visit, which is always win. On Friday I finished work early and ended up going to my parent's house, as Grandad and Nan were visiting and I'm not one to pass up free lasagne. It was also a day of showing off the wedding album, both at work and at my grandparents. The wedding album is a work of beautiful art - Richie put it together, and it's a photobook with lots of different pictures, and it tells the story of the day. It's full of all my friends and family, I am beamingly happy throughout (I didn't have photos taken while I was getting ready as I'd have killed someone) and also it's the day I got married, which, you know, A GOOD DAY. Also I am a pretty princess in it. (Shush.) So I like showing it off, but at the same time I am full of ANXIETY because it makes me feel a bit vain. This will not stop me throwing it at people, though.

But yay, Katie! After wrestling with the car park at the train station, we got back to the flat and had AN AWESOME WEEKEND OF AWESOME. Saturday consisted of the now traditional trip to Liverpool, where the train conductor tried to guess where Katie was from (he was wrong) and I was introduced to the world of maternity tights and I realised that whilst I am deeply against the idea of me having kids I am incoherantly excited about other people doing so. (I also learnt that how TINY babygros can be. WHO KNEW.) Saturday night consisted of too much food and The Extraordinary Aventures of Adele Blanc-Sec which if you haven't seen you NEED IN YOUR LIFE.

Sunday consisted of checking out the food festival that was in Southport, under unusually blazing sunshine - hence the sunburn. Katie introduced me to the wonder that is churros (I'm not sure if this is a good thing) and Richie had to be restrained from eating a camel burger. Surely camels are what you eat when you can't face cannibalism? Alas, the day was too short and Katie had to head back to Edinburgh, but it was a lovely weekend.

Now it's back to full weeks at work. Also, I am watching the football. Two goals they managed while I was cleaning, and now I'm sat down it's all boring passing. Alas.
