Oh, the sun is shining and it's warm and it's a thing of beauty and wonder. I've spent the last three lunchtimes sat on a bench in the warm sun and everything.

Things have been lifting a little, perhaps in time with the spring. I FINALLY had a GP appointment, wherein I was informed that I had nothing wrong with me, at least according to blood tests. I'm not even anaemic, and the last time I showed up as Not Anaemic was about 2004. So I am being Referred To The Hospital. Hey ho.

I spent my long Easter weekend having an actually rather wonderful couple of days. Went out on Thursday evening for the first evening of David's thirtieth birthday. He was operating on the sensible logic that if he was going to turn thirty he was going to really enjoy it, to the extent he has decreed the upcoming month shall basically just be Rama-dave, like Ramadan except with an awful lot of drinking and probably bacon. Anyway, we had an evening of pizza followed by an bar where we got seats outdoors and relaxed under heaters all evening. Terrible service (that's what you get for drinking in that weird split between the City and Shoreditch) but, well, outdoors!

We spent Friday at my grandad's house. We promised to go and see him more, and it was a lovely evening in the end. Richie and him are a bad influence on each other, they keep using the other as an excuse to drink whiskey. Other than Marian gatecrashing briefly with her whole frankly weird family (current feeling from our family on her: Nan isn't cold yet, please go easy, we are trying to be sympathetic but alarm bells are getting louder) it was a lovely day. On Saturday we came home, though. In the evening we went out to David's second birthday party, which was also super good fun. Intensely amazing Italian food followed by a trip to my Favourite Bar Ever for some truly excellent cocktails. You guys, you can mix vodka AND red wine and it can still be delicious. This is possibly a very dangerous combination, but oh how wonderful.

Sunday was an Easter day with friends too, at John's house. We drank, er, for about nine hours. There was a roast in the middle, to be fair, but I have to confess my evening was a little blurry. Ah well. We ended up sleeping ever. I do not recommend travelling to my neck of the woods from Wimbledon when you have a hangover!

Anyway. I ended up going back to work this week. My boss is on annual leave so I spent Tuesday and Wednesday working my arse off before it went weirdly silent today, so I cracked out my USB stick and ended up blasting out another 1000 words on my assignment. I now have about 1,500 to finish it and have until the 23rd April. Fingers crossed I may be able to get through some more tomorrow if it's not too busy and then I can finish it in all of one day over the weekend. This is mostly because Daredevil starts tomorrow and I sort of want to bingewatch it without having to consider employer of choice and good recruitment practices too deeply. This is just how cool I am, yo. The weekend after this one I'm at a hen do so in all seriousness I do only have a week to finish this blasted thing. But then I'm three quarters of the way done with the course, yippee!

Good luck with the hospital referral! It is annoying when nobody can work out what's wrong (although better than finding out that it's something bad) - I ended up having to be referred for various investigations (X-ray, ultrasound, cystoscopy) a few years ago with the end result of "nothing seems wrong, it must just be One Of Those Things. Have some blood tests once a year".

Enjoy the sunshine, and good luck with the assignment!
