I try not to complain about post con blues after Milton Keynes, mostly because one time my post con blues were 'I came home on Sunday and they put my dog down on Monday', which, you know, worst ever.

A new second will now be Mirena coil insertion/lining biopsy Monday, where I yelped in pain during, cried with pain on the bus home and am now lying in bed having cracked into my emergency codeine with a hot water bottle. I was okay with the speculum and biopsy bit but the inserting bit was Really Fucking Painful.

I did not think ahead and buy ice cream. Terrible decision, Past Colleen!

Ooh, I'd better buy ice cream and junk food and borrow my aunt's heating pad -- sadly codeine doesn't work on me (side effect of Prozac) so I'll be stuck with my prescription-strength NSAIDs. I've got a similar insertion tomorrow; I think it's a different brand name but otherwise pretty much the same thing. (The doctor said it's slightly smaller than the Mirena, which I'm hoping will help at least a little... ;P)

Oh heck, I'm sorry and I didn't mean to scare you - I didn't realise the timings! Once the drugs and heat kicked in it really helped. It also doesn't help that I spent last week on a dose of hormones to kickstart my first period in Quite Some Time so I'm also getting cramps from that...

It's fine, I'd just completely forgotten I might need to prep anything in advance. Honestly it's good to have the heads-up, y'know? :D First time, no idea what to expect, not googling too much because you know how Google can get with the scaremongering.

The worst ever one sounds terrible! I can see how no post-con blues, no matter how bad, could eclipse that. Sorry to hear that the coil and biopsy stuff is so painful, though - I hope it doesn't last too long. Go you for getting it done!

I have no concept of that sort of pain, so I'll offer general hugs instead. [Also, if you live anywhere near the DLR line from Stratford to Canary Wharf, I could probably swing by with ice cream within the next couple of hours, if that would help.]

Is it wrong that your line about cracking into the emergency codeine with a hot water bottle made me imagine you flailing at a glass fronted red box with it?

Oh rubbish. *hugs* I realise it is now significantly after the fact, and you're hopefully feeling significantly better, but on Saturday I intend to buy you a fantastic drink nevertheless.
