So, I still feel ill and my methods to kill it now include the most disgusting cough medicine known to man (but a really big bottle for 99p so it will do me), eating a cheese and tomato toastie and drinking some of my mushroom soup. This is over my Alloted Lunchtime Budget but I am so fed up of feeling ill that I really don't care.

Except! No student loan yet!

If it's not here by tomorrow, I am getting righteous on the LEA. I really am. Also the Natwest. NEED MONEY NOW KTHXBAI. SEND CHEESE IF WORSE COMES TO WORST.

(ARGH the bookshop had Thud next to the history books. WHY MUST YOU MOCK ME OH LORD?)

I really enjoyed my mediaevel history lecture this morning, though. The lecturer was engaging, made me laugh at times, and all in all was quite useful in Introducing Key Concepts. Good fun, really.

ANYWAY. I have now finished my soup and I am going to combat my general low feeling by going to the library and finishing my Spanish homework (need a dictionary and can't be bothered buying one just yet) and also going to check what time I have Spanish and history tutorials.

I can see myself either loving or hating Spanish. Possibly it shall be a cunning combination of the two, not unlike politics for the first term of college, I think.

He's moving into Cambridge today. That's 409 miles, rather than 280. Ten days until I visit. As I said, helps to stay busy because otherwise I get stupid about the whole thing.

DocSoc tonight. I don't care how ill I am, I will crawl if it means I can go and see The Ark In Space.

Get used to the loan disaster. It happens every single year. A lot of people don't get any money until the middle of October. It's alright for the people that don't start until then anyway, but the rest of us have already been surviving on nothing for 4 weeks. The system is useless.

OH MY GOD NOT OCTOBER.

...

My rent is dragged out of my account in October. Really, really relying on this money...

*panics*

Look, you'll be fine. You can't be that far into your overdraft already can you? That should mop up the mess for a while. Also, as you're in uni accommodation, warn them that this might happen and they might be able to delay the payment. The uni will be very aware that this happens to some students so you won't be on your own. Most LEAs cock up things like this. Panic not my dear.

Forgot to add that if the halls are being pains and the LEA has seriously gone wrong (phone them today and yell at them) then your union or student support thing will have hardships loans and grants you can apply for. They might be able to get you some money to tie you over.

Aha, not in my overdraft at all. I am perfectly fine until about Christmas, money wise - if I didn't have any rent or fees to pay.

Also, distinct lack of overdraft turning up, either.

I think I need to shout down the phone at people tomorrow...

This is all far too new and scary.
