Note to self: pleasant though it may be to sit in a beer garden and drink rose wine in the sun, it is not wise. I went from 'cheerful' to 'blind drunk' in about thirty seconds. Other than that I had a lovely afternoon and a terrible hangover at about midnight, which was surreal, but did mean work was bearable today. This is especially important given my manager spent the day asleep in the back office, only waking up for a cigarette every three hours. I feel better about my drink intake.

Anyway, it was lovely but I think the moral of the story is that, as I have proved countless times in the past, I cannot drink in the afternoon. I need at least two meals in me before I drink, I think! At least I have learnt a lesson before the end of my exams on Tuesday at 12.30pm.

Anyway, I am now home, starving hungry but am trying to hang on until 'official' tea time, i.e. when Robin Hood in on. Fortunately this week there are no television clashes so I can avoid revision for ages. I am very aware that I have more revision to do than you can shake a stick at, and have thus far done two topics, and those not in depth.

God, roll on freedom.

I've come to the conclusion that rose wine is EVIL. The last time I had wine of various types can be summarised as follows:

Red - few glasses over an evening, pleasantly tipsy but otherwise fine
White - as above
Rose - blind drunk after three glasses and massive headache once sober

Course, food consumption or lack thereof might also play a part, as would speed of drinking. But let's not allow facts to get in the way.

'Roll on freedom' is a good battle cry for this stage in the year, methinks.

You know, I can drink a bottle of red wine and then some and be, you know, merry but fairly okay. All rose wine incidents have been... unpleasant. There might be something in that!

I really think there is. The last time I had rose, three glasses of it - small glasses, too! - and I was throwing up. Which I'd say falls neatly under the definition of Unpleasant. The other day, I had a couple of glasses of red, a glass or two of white and even some dessert wine and was just merrily tipsy. I have no idea what the hell was going on on Rose Night.

I'm thinking I may just avoid it from now on...!
